How does it work?
Each activity along the Trail, including farm tours, boat and kayak tours, purchasing oysters in Maine, and visiting raw bars or shuck trucks, earns you one “check-in” when you visit.
Every location along the Trail has a unique 4-digit code, which you can enter into your mobile Oyster Passport to confirm your check-in. Businesses will have these unique codes on display as well as a QR code that will bring you directly to the mobile oyster passport login page. From there, enter the one-time 4-digit code, and you’re on your way to receiving Maine Oyster Trail swag!
Rewards
Once you reach a certain number of check-ins on your Oyster Passport, you’ll be eligible for a reward! You can keep building on your check-ins to earn additional rewards – this means when you achieve the “Oyster Newbie” level, you’re only 7 check-ins away from the next level, “Traveling the Trail.” Enjoying oysters in Maine just got even sweeter!

FAQs
Can I check-in at the same business multiple times?
One and done! Each 4-digit code is redeemable only once for a check-in. However, we hope you continue to visit these businesses after you’ve completed your check-in on the Trail!
Can I share the codes I collect with friends and family who did not participate?
The Trail runs on the honor system, and we ask that you not share these businesses’ unique codes. Entering each unique code means that you are supporting an oyster business, and we hope that you will encourage curious friends and family to also support these businesses by earning their own check-ins.
How will I know when I’ve completed enough check-ins to get swag?
Your account will keep track of your check-ins, so be sure to enter the 4-digit code at each location when you complete an oyster activity. Want to check your progress? You can log into your oyster passport at any time to track your check-ins.
How many times can I redeem check-ins for the same rewards?
We know, Maine Oyster Trail swag is the coolest. However, you are only able to redeem check-ins once per level to receive the associated reward. But don’t forget you can build off your current check-ins to reach the next level and earn new rewards!
How do I claim my free swag?
When you’ve earned enough points to redeem your prize, you’ll be prompted to claim your prize via your account. Once you claim your prize and input your mailing address, your swag will be on its way to you. Woohoo!
What if my phone is dead or I don’t have cell service while I’m on the Trail? Can I still check-in later?
Yes. Simply write down or commit to memory the 4-digit code associated with the activity you are participating in. After you leave the farm, oyster pickup location, or other activity, you can then log in and enter that code.
Can I have swag shipped to an address that’s outside of the US?
Unfortunately, no. You must provide a United States mailing address in order to have your rewards shipped to you.
